As many as 21 girls and a boy have figured among the top three position holders in the Class 12th examination, the results of which were declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday.
According to official details, the top three positions in the Science stream have been shared by eight students — seven girls and one boy — several of whom are from government higher secondary schools.
In the Science stream, Aanchal Parihar of SP Higher Secondary School, Exchange Road Jammu, secured the first position by scoring 495 marks (99%).
The second position was shared by Jannat Shabir Rawa of SRM Welkin Higher Secondary School, Sopore (Baramulla), and Sehrish Jahangir of Government HSS Bugam. Both students scored 494 marks (98.8%).
The third position in the Science stream was shared by five students — four girls and one boy — each scoring 492 marks (98.4%).

In the Commerce stream, the top three positions have been secured by five girls.
The first position was bagged by Adiba of Kashmir Harvard Higher Secondary School, Habak Naseem Bagh Srinagar, who scored 495 marks (99%).
The second position was shared by Tanzila Hamid and Zainab Bilal of Government Girls HSS Amirakadal Srinagar. Both scored 494 marks (98.8%).
The third position was shared by Ainan Tufail of Government HSS Chanpora and Tabish Mushtaq of Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI), Ellahibagh Srinagar, with both scoring 493 marks (98.6%).
In the Arts stream, all top positions have been secured by girl students.
The first position went to Areeza Javid of GVEI Srinagar, who scored 496 marks (99.2%).
The second position was secured by Shifa Qureshi of Government Girls HSS Nowhatta Srinagar, who scored 495 marks (99%).
The third position was shared by four students, each scoring 494 marks (98.8%). They include:

In the Home Science stream, all top positions were secured by girl students from Government HSS Kothibagh Srinagar.
The first position was bagged by Shibra, who scored 485 marks (97%).
The second position was secured by Arwaa Mushtaq with 483 marks (96.6%), while the third position went to Soni Verma, who scored 468 marks (93.6%).
As reported earlier, JKBOSE declared the Class 12th annual examination results on Wednesday, recording an overall pass percentage of 74.8%.
A total of 1,03,308 students appeared in the examination across Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 77,311 qualified successfully.
Girls outshone boys in the results. The pass percentage for boys stood at 71.95%, while for girls, it was 77.72%.
