KU holds marathon for specially-abled

To create awareness about the issues faced by the specially-abled persons, Department of Students Welfare (DSW) University of Kashmir organised a marathon for specially-abled persons at KU campus on Thursday.

The marathon was flaged off by Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad and Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir started at Maulana Rumi Gate and culminated at Gandhi Bhawan auditorium of the Varsity.

Around 50 specially-abled students from various departments of the University and from several other institutions participated in the marathon.

The culmination of the marathon was followed by distribution of awards and participation certificates amongst the specially-abled persons at Gandhi Bhawan auditorium.

Such events boost the morale of the specially-abled and brings a sports aptitude in them.
