Baramulla’s Young Handball Stars win IDPL Under-14 Championships

The Inter-District Provincial Level (IDPL) AAG Boys Handball Competition, organized by the Youth Services and Sports Department, J&K, culminated on Monday with Baramulla clinching the trophy in the IDPL Under-14 Boys category held at the Indoor Stadium, Baramulla.
The event, held under the supervision of Mohammad Rashid Kohli, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Kashmir Province, was hosted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Baramulla.
The competition featured two thrilling semifinal matches this morning. In the first semifinal, Baramulla faced Kupwara, with Baramulla emerging victorious. The second semifinal saw Kulgam competing against Bandipora, with Bandipora securing the win.
The highly anticipated final match was held between Baramulla and Bandipora, with Baramulla clinching the trophy in the IDPL Under-14 Boys category.
The closing ceremony was graced by Nazir Ahmad Bhat, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla, who served as the chief guest. In his address, he extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants and officials for their dedication and efforts in ensuring the smooth and successful execution of the IDPL competition.
He also awarded trophies to both the winning and runner-up teams, acknowledging their outstanding performances.
While speaking at the ceremony, Bhat emphasized the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and overall development among the youth. He praised the players for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship, which were evident throughout the competition.
Meanwhile, the IDPL AAG Girls Handball Competition is scheduled to be held tomorrow at the same venue, showcasing the talent and determination of young athletes from various districts.
