Srinagar Smart City Limited has launched an Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) and an e-Challan system to enhance traffic management in the city.
The ITMS includes several features aimed at streamlining urban traffic. Advanced cameras are deployed for real-time traffic monitoring to manage flow and respond to incidents efficiently. Smart traffic signals with intelligent controllers adjust signal timings based on real-time conditions to minimize delays.
Over 1,050 cameras have been installed for automated rule enforcement. These cameras detect violations such as red-light jumping, overspeeding, mobile phone usage while driving, and riding without a helmet. The e-Challan system processes traffic violations digitally, ensuring transparency and efficiency in enforcement.
