PHDCCI Kashmir calls on Omar Abdullah, seeks policy support for MSMEs, Tourism, IT

A high-level delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Kashmir chapter, on Wednesday called on Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss key economic, industrial, and infrastructure challenges facing the region.

A statement said that led by Chairman A.P. Vicky Shaw, Co-Chairs Arshad Nizam Shawl and Javaid Anim, and accompanied by Executive Committee members, the PHDCCI delegation submitted a detailed memorandum seeking targeted policy interventions across sectors to boost entrepreneurship, revive MSMEs, and build investor confidence in the Union Territory.

During the meeting, the delegation urged the government to mandate at least 30 percent reservation for resident entrepreneurs in all GeM tenders floated by J&K departments, agencies, and PSUs. They also recommended inclusion of a “Resident Seller of J&K” filter in the tendering process to level the playing field for local businesses.
