Srinagar Boxer Bareena Wins Silver at Nationals

In a remarkable achievement, promising young boxer Bareena from Srinagar has confirmed a silver medal (66-70kg) in the ongoing 6th Junior Boys and Girls National Boxing Championship, currently underway in Rohtak, Haryana.

Bareena secured her place in the finals by defeating Tamil Nadu’s A. Shirinidhi in a hard-fought semifinal bout. With this victory, she is now set to compete in the championship final tomorrow against SSCB Boxer, where she will vie for the gold medal. The tournament, which began on June 19, will conclude on June 25, featuring talented young pugilists from across the country.

Notably, Bareena had already made her mark on the national stage by winning a bronze medal in the Sub-Junior National Boxing Championship in 2022.
