CM Omar Abdullah Kicks Off Major Cyclothon Event in Srinagar

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday flagged off a Cyclothon at the Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar to mark World Bicycle Day, promoting fitness, healthy living and environmental awareness among youth.

The event was organised under the “My Youth My Pride” initiative and witnessed enthusiastic participation from cyclists and young people from across the region.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Cyclothon aims to encourage youth to adopt active lifestyles and integrate sports and physical activity into their daily routines.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of fitness and sustainable modes of transport, while reiterating the government’s commitment to youth engagement and sports development.

Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani also participated in the event.

The Cyclothon formed part of a broader effort to promote health consciousness, environmental responsibility and greater participation of youth in sporting activities across Jammu and Kashmir.
