Chenab Rail Bridge Hosts NCC Cadets for International Yoga Day Celebrations

Marking the 12th International Yoga Day, National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets performed yoga at the iconic Chenab Rail Bridge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, showcasing the message of health, discipline, and unity from one of India’s most remarkable engineering landmarks.

The yoga session was organised against the breathtaking backdrop of the Chenab Rail Bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge. NCC cadets enthusiastically participated in various yoga asanas, highlighting the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.

The event was part of nationwide celebrations held under this year’s International Yoga Day theme, promoting yoga as a powerful tool for achieving harmony between body and mind. Cadets demonstrated a series of yoga postures and breathing exercises, emphasizing the role of yoga in building resilience, focus, and self-discipline among youth.

Officials said the unique venue added significance to the celebration, symbolizing India’s engineering excellence while reinforcing the global message of wellness and peace through yoga. The participation of NCC cadets reflected the organization’s commitment to fostering leadership, fitness, and national pride among young citizens.

International Yoga Day, observed annually on June 21, has gained widespread popularity across the world since its adoption by the United Nations following the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Across Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of people participated in yoga sessions at schools, colleges, public spaces, tourist destinations, and iconic landmarks.

The yoga event at the Chenab Rail Bridge stood out as a powerful representation of India’s progress, youth empowerment, and commitment to promoting the ancient practice of yoga on a global stage.
