LG Manoj Sinha Evaluates Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 Preparedness, Reinforces Registration Norms

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the overall management and ground situation of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, emphasizing the importance of strict adherence to the registration process to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Special DG Coordination PHQ S.J.M. Gillani, Principal Secretary, Home Department Chandraker Bharti, Joint Director, Intelligence Bureau Pankaj Thakur, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor and CEO of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, along with senior officers from the Civil Administration, Police, Security Forces, SASB and other concerned departments.

Comprehensive Review of Yatra Arrangements

During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor reviewed key aspects of the pilgrimage, including pilgrim movement, traffic management, security arrangements, accommodation facilities, registration status, and overall logistics to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the Yatra.

Officials informed the meeting that an unusually large number of devotees have been arriving in Jammu and Kashmir without valid registration, resulting in longer waiting times and operational challenges.

LG Appeals to Pilgrims to Follow Registration Schedule

The Lieutenant Governor stressed that the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is being conducted in accordance with the prescribed ceiling on pilgrim movement along the Yatra tracks, as mandated by the Supreme Court of India.

He emphasized that adherence to the registration schedule is essential to ensure the safety, security, and convenience of all pilgrims.

The administration reiterated that only pilgrims possessing valid registration for their designated date will be permitted to proceed on the tracks leading to the Holy Cave Shrine.

Appealing to intending pilgrims who have not yet completed registration, LG Manoj Sinha urged them to defer their travel for the next few days to avoid inconvenience upon reaching Jammu and Kashmir.

He also advised devotees to complete the mandatory registration process and obtain a valid Yatra Registration Permit before beginning their journey, stating that pilgrims travelling without confirmed registration will not be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage.

Focus on Security and Coordination

Reviewing the security and logistical preparedness, the Lieutenant Governor directed all departments, security agencies, and stakeholders to maintain close coordination throughout the Yatra.

He instructed authorities to remain in constant liaison with Langar organizations, service providers, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to ensure that pilgrims experience a safe, seamless, spiritually enriching, and well-managed pilgrimage.

The administration reaffirmed its commitment to providing comprehensive security, efficient traffic management, quality accommodation, medical facilities, and other essential services for thousands of devotees participating in the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
