LG Manoj Sinha Felicitates Gender Equity Fellows at Lok Bhavan

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the felicitation ceremony of the Gender Equity Fellowship Programme 2025–26 (Batch 1) at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar, where he honoured the inaugural batch of fellows and reiterated the Jammu and Kashmir Administration’s commitment to promoting gender equality, women’s leadership, and inclusive development.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the fellows and appreciated their commitment to driving positive social change. He emphasized that empowering women through education, leadership opportunities, and community participation is essential for building a progressive, equitable, and self-reliant society.

Shri Sinha highlighted that the Gender Equity Fellowship Programme is an important initiative to nurture young leaders who will work towards advancing gender justice, empowering women and girls, and fostering inclusive growth across Jammu and Kashmir. He encouraged the fellows to become catalysts for change by addressing social challenges at the grassroots level and inspiring greater participation of women in governance, education, entrepreneurship, and public life.

The Lieutenant Governor also praised the organisers, mentors, and partner institutions for launching a programme that equips young professionals with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities needed to create lasting social impact. He stressed that gender equality is fundamental to sustainable development and urged the fellows to work with dedication and compassion in their respective communities.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by senior government officials, programme mentors, academicians, civil society representatives, and the first batch of Gender Equity Fellows, who pledged to contribute towards building a more inclusive and empowered Jammu and Kashmir.
