Sports: Building Discipline and Resilience

Recent examples underline this role. In June 2026, students of AGS Kargil, including specially-abled students, participated in a National Integration Tour covering Jammu, Delhi, Dehradun and Shimla, aimed at promoting national integration, cultural exchange and exposure to educational and developmental opportunities.
Similarly, students from AGS Saujiyan, Poonch, participated in a J&K Integration Tour in March 2026, with the objective of fostering national integration and holistic development while broadening their understanding of India’s cultural and institutional diversity.
Celebrating Unity and National Pride
Festivals and important national days provide another avenue for holistic learning. Through collective celebrations, students learn to appreciate India’s diverse traditions while understanding the values of unity, harmony and national responsibility. Such activities create a sense of belonging and help children recognise diversity as a strength.

The Beyond Books approach is also increasingly connected with exposure to science, technology and emerging opportunities. AGS students have participated in educational visits to institutions such as IIT Jammu and CSIR-IIIM Srinagar, where they were introduced to research, scientific concepts and potential career pathways.
