INDIAN ARMY IS JUST & PROTECTOR OF PEOPLE OF J&K

Indian Army has long played a vital role in protecting the borders of the nation.  Beyond its military responsibilities, it has also emerged as a symbol of hope, compassion and service to humanity in Jammu & Kashmir. From responding to floods and natural disasters to organizing medical camps in remote villages, the Army continues to stand beside local communities during their most difficult times. Jammu & Kashmir’s challenging mountainous terrain, harsh weather conditions and vulnerability to natural disasters often create serious difficulties for residents.  During floods, landslides and other emergencies, Army personnel frequently assist civil authorities in rescue and relief operations. They help evacuate stranded people, provide emergency assistance, distribute essential supplies and support the restoration of normal life. Their timely intervention can prove crucial when roads are blocked, communication networks are disrupted and access to affected areas becomes difficult.

The Army’s humanitarian contribution also extends to healthcare. Medical camps organised in remote and underserved areas provide villagers with access to medical consultations, basic treatment and essential medicines. Army medical teams help identify common health problems and spread awareness about hygiene, sanitation, disease prevention and general well-being. Such initiatives are particularly valuable for elderly people, women, children and residents who face difficulties travelling long distances to healthcare facilities.

These humanitarian efforts reflect the Indian Army’s commitment to serving the people of Jammu & Kashmir beyond the battlefield. By working alongside local administration and communities, Army personnel help strengthen public confidence, promote goodwill and provide reassurance during emergencies. Equally important is the human connection established through these initiatives. A rescued family, a treated patient or a village receiving timely relief represents the meaningful impact of service delivered with courage and compassion. From guarding the nation’s borders to saving lives during disasters and extending healthcare to remote communities, the Indian Army’s role in Jammu & Kashmir goes far beyond conventional defence. Its humanitarian activities demonstrate that true service to the nation also means protecting lives, alleviating suffering and standing with people in times of need.
