Anantnag: JAKEDA Conducts Awareness-Cum-Capacity Workshop on PM-KUSUM

he Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development (JAKEDA), Department of Science & Technology, in collaboration with MNRE & GIZ conducted an awareness cum capacity building workshop at Townhall, Anantnag, for sensitization of farmers regarding use of Solar Energy for powering of irrigation pumps under PM-KUSUM Scheme

According to Press Release Issued here, The occasion was attended by ADDC, Anantnag, CEO Municipal Council Anantnag, M. A. Malik, Dy. CEO, JAKEDA, and officers from JAKEDA, Horticulture and Agriculture departments.

The capacity building of the farmers was carried out by Dr. Jaswant Singh Kalsi (ASCI) and Dr. Ruchi Gupta (GIZ) on behalf of Ministry of New &Renewable Energy, MNRE.

During the programme, the Officers and the Farmers were apprised about the various benefits/incentives extended by the “Ministry of New & Renewable Energy” MNRE GoI, under PM – KUSUM Scheme, which is primarily meant for upliftment of the farmers.

The farmers and Officials were apprised about the basics of Solar water Pumping Systems including USPCs and modalities of Component B of PM KUSUM It was also informed that under Component – B of PM-KUSUM Scheme, a collective subsidy of 80% shall be provided to the farmers who intend to install Solar Water Pumps.

An interactive session was also held with the farmers and officers from other departments, wherein their concern and queries about the schemes were also addressed.

The pamphlets containing all the related information of Solar Pumps under PM-KUSUM scheme, like prices, subsidy amount, beneficiary share, contact numbers of district nodal person etc were distributed among the farmers and the officers for their convenience
