The Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IISM), Gulmarg a subordinate office of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is conducting three water skiing courses at Dal Lake, Srinagar. Each course accommodates 25 trainees from across the country.
The Graduation Ceremony of the 2nd water skiing course was held at Dal Lake, marking the successful completion of the second phase of this specialised training programme.
The event was graced by Tahir Saleem Khan, Staff Officer to IGP Kashmir, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Khan congratulated the trainees on successfully completing the course and appreciated their enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication to adventure sports.
He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting adventure tourism and engaging youth in constructive and skill-based activities. Khan also commended IISM for its continued efforts in developing professional competencies and enhancing the tourism potential of the region.
The ongoing water-skiing training series at Dal Lake is part of IISM’s broader vision to strengthen the adventure tourism ecosystem of the region and to provide structured high quality training opportunities for aspiring water sports enthusiasts from across India.
