The CIED–IUST Foundation on Thursday organised a one-day Innovate X 1.0: Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Programme under the Mission YUVA initiative, aimed at encouraging entrepreneurial thinking among youth.The programme was conducted by Prof. Parvez A. Mir, Chief Executive Officer of the CIED–IUST Foundation. The inaugural session was attended by Sameer Wazir, Finance Officer, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST); Dr. Basharat Nabi Dar, Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development Cell; and Dr. Mohd Asif Bashir Naqshbandi, Coordinator, IPR Cell, along with members of the Foundation, budding entrepreneurs and students from various schools and colleges.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Mir highlighted the significance of the recently launched Mission YUVA scheme of the J&K Government and urged participants to register on the Mission YUVA portal to avail funding and institutional support. A video presentation explaining the registration process was also screened.
Sameer Wazir gave an overview of the CIED–IUST Foundation and outlined the mentoring, incubation and funding opportunities available to young entrepreneurs. Dr. Basharat Nabi Dar spoke on the growing scope of food entrepreneurship and informed participants about food technology startups and laboratory facilities available at the Foundation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Syed Abdul Basit, who encouraged participants to make effective use of the Mission YUVA scheme for building viable entrepreneurial ventures. Participants were also guided on the application process under the scheme.
