J&K Gymnastics Association forms 8 Committees to promote Gymnastics

In a strategic move to strengthen gymnastics in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Gymnastics Association (JKGA), under the leadership of President Kiran Wattal, has constituted eight specialized committees aimed at promoting and managing various aspects of the sport across the Union Territory.

As part of this initiative, Rajan Sharma has been appointed Chairman and Tarsem Sharma as Co-Chairman of the Administrative and Transport Committee. The Disciplinary Committee will be led by Sunil Sharma as Chairman and Advocate Anishwar Chaterji Koul as Co-Chairman. Tejinder Singh will chair the Technical and Organising Committee, assisted by Gurmeet Singh as Co-Chairman. Advocate Anishwar Chaterji Koul will also head the Legal Committee, with Advocate Y.C. Katoch as Co-Chairman.

The Tour and Travel Committee will be led by Er. Shubhanshu Sharma, while Ravinder Singh and Gurmeet Singh have been appointed as Chairman and Co-Chairman respectively of the Tournament Activities Committee (Districts). Anil Khajuria will head the Hospitality Committee.

In addition, district-wise Gymnastics Promotion and Activity Committees have been formed in Reasi, Udhampur, Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, and Samba. Rakesh Malhotra, Treasurer of JKGA and Swarn Singh, President of Gymnastics Association District Udhampur, will supervise financial affairs.

Speaking on the occasion, Kiran Wattal said these committees will work collectively to ensure the smooth functioning of gymnastics activities, identify young talent and provide quality coaching and competitive platforms. He expressed gratitude to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Minister of Sports Satish Sharma, Commissioner Secretary Sports Sarmad Hafiz, and Secretary Sports Nuzhat Gul for their ongoing support.

Wattal emphasized that JKGA is committed to built a supportive ecosystem that empowers gymnasts to excel nationally and internationally.
