As part of the Civic Action Program and in its continued efforts to promote youth engagement, fitness and road safety, Police in Sopore organized a Cycling Race Competition.
Students from various schools across Police District Sopore participated with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
The event was flagged off by ADC Sopore, Shabir Raina, in presence of senior officers of Sopore Police. The race concluded at the designated finishing point, where a felicitation ceremony was held under the chairmanship of SSP Sopore, Iftikhar Talib.
All participating students were presented with mementoes, while the top performers in both male and female categories were awarded cash prizes of Rs 8,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 for securing first, second and third positions respectively.
Addressing the gathering, SSP Sopore highlighted the importance of cycling as a sport that instills discipline, fitness, endurance and responsible road behaviour among youth. He said such competitions help nurture talent, build confidence and create a healthy competitive spirit among students.
SSP Sopore appreciated the participation of students, the support of school managements, and the efforts of parents and teachers. He also commended the Sopore Police team for smoothly organising the event.
