J&K Youth set to showcase culture at Kurukshetra YEP

A 30-member contingent from Jammu and Kashmir was flagged off today by Director General, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Anuradha Gupta for the Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) to be held in Kurukshetra, Haryana from July 22.

The contingent includes 23 young participants and 7 escorting officials from the department. They will represent J&K through folk songs, folk dances, and a PowerPoint presentation on local culture, promoting the region’s rich heritage at the national level.

DG Anuradha Gupta emphasized that such programs offer invaluable exposure to young minds, encouraging cross-cultural learning and unity. “Our youth are cultural ambassadors. These platforms help them grow, learn, and share the uniqueness of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India,” she said.

She was accompanied by Joint Director YSS Jammu Dr. Vinakshi Koul, Deputy Director Central Jitender Mishra, Deputy Director Planning Megha Bogia, Accounts Officer Sunil Kotwal, and Contingent Nodal Officer Altaf Hussain Bhat.

Anuradha Gupta concluded with an inspiring message: “What the youth can achieve in 10 years, will take the elderly a thousand.” She also assured more such opportunities would be created in the future.
