Kashmir Witnesses One of the Biggest Anti-Terror Raids With 100+ Locations Hit

Jammu and Kashmir Police, backed by central agencies, continued extensive raids over 100 locations across multiple districts of the Valley in a massive crackdown on terror networks and banned organisations for the third consecutive day.

The coordinated operations, targeting Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) and Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) affiliates, form part of a sustained campaign to neutralise overground workers (OGWs), block funding channels, and disrupt subversive activities threatening peace and stability in the region.

A police official said that on Thursday alone, security agencies carried out coordinated raids at over 100 locations across Srinagar, Baramulla, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, and Ganderbal districts as the crackdown entered its third consecutive day.

He said in Baramulla, the district police executed a series of coordinated preventive operations aimed at strengthening internal security, neutralising subversive elements, and reinforcing public order.

According to police, six individuals linked to subversive networks were bound under the law, while 22 properties associated with overground workers (OGWs) were searched. In addition, 20 OGWs were bound down, and two were sent to jail under preventive detention laws.

Police said two individuals booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), presently on bail, were examined, and eight others on bail have been identified for bail cancellation, with two cases already submitted before the competent court.

As part of the drive, 16 cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) were conducted at various locations, 292 vehicles were thoroughly checked, and seven individuals affiliated with E&IMCO and Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) were searched to ensure compliance with the law. Two absconding UAPA accused were also traced, and legal action has been initiated.

Police said these actions were taken to pre-empt security contingencies, curb disruptive activities, and preserve public order.

“Preventive operations will continue in the coming days to further strengthen security and civic stability,” he said.

A police spokesman said that in Shopian, J&K Police carried out extensive searches at multiple locations linked with members and associates of JeI and JKNOP. The searches, officials said, are part of the ongoing crackdown to identify individuals providing logistical or financial assistance to terror groups.

In Pulwama, police and security forces jointly launched coordinated CASOs at several suspected locations targeting anti-national elements, including those linked with JKNOP and other subversive networks.

During the operations, multiple premises were searched and the identities of several individuals verified. Police said the exercise aims to trace individuals involved in unlawful activities, strengthen surveillance, and enhance public safety.

Meanwhile, background operations conducted since November 10 indicate a massive, Valley-wide crackdown. In Srinagar, police carried out raids at over 150 locations, targeting associates and OGWs affiliated with banned outfits.

The searches, conducted under UAPA cases, led to the recovery of documents and digital evidence relevant to ongoing investigations.

In Sopore, 30 simultaneous raids were conducted across Sopore, Zaingeer, and Rafiabad, leading to the recovery of incriminating documents and gadgets.

In Kulgam, one of the largest coordinated crackdowns saw raids at over 200 locations linked to JeI members and associates, with around 500 individuals questioned and several detained under preventive laws.

Police said the continuing operations are aimed at dismantling ideological, logistical, and financial networks supporting terrorism.

“This sustained campaign reflects our zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its support structures. The raids and preventive actions will continue across the Union Territory in the coming days,” a police spokesperson added.
