The Shopian District Table Tennis Championship 2025 concluded after a series of exciting matches across various categories. The event organized by Shopian District Table Tennis Association under the aegis of the J&K Table Tennis Association and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, witnessed participation from 47 players competing in junior, senior and veteran divisions for both men and women.
The championship was inaugurated by Dr Murad Hussain Shah and Dr Umar Rashid (Physical Director), along with Prof. Shiraz Gull Sheikh, Riyaz Ali and Dr Bilal Ahad.
Key results included Furqaan Nazir defeating Muneeb Manzoor in Junior Boys, Danish Hamid beating Subzar Hassan in Sub-Junior Boys, Atiya Khan winning against Arjuman Bashir in Junior Girls and Roomey Jan defeating Arshika Sarwar in Sub-Junior Girls. In the Men’s category, Kaiser defeated Sahil Ahmad, Mohsin Shafi beat Umer Rashid and Arbaz Amin triumphed in the Senior Men’s division. Fiza Rashid claimed victory in the Women’s category by defeating Samin Saleem.
The closing ceremony was held at the multi-purpose hall, where Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Shafiq, Principal, emphasized the importance of sports for holistic development and congratulated the organizing associations. Trophies and medals were distributed by Prof. Shafiq, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, Dr. Umar Rashid, Dr. Bilal Ahad and Shahzada Akhter.
