Sonamarg in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has emerged as a premier tourist hotspot, attracting visitors from across the country eager to experience the transition from winter to spring.
The place has captivated tourists seeking thrilling activities like sledge rides and snow skiing now in Thajiwas Glacier Side. Enthralled by the breathtaking scenery, visitors have hailed Sonamarg as the ultimate travel destination, with many describing Kashmir as a veritable paradise.
According to recent reports from the Tourism Department, Sonamarg has witnessed an extraordinary surge in tourist arrivals, marking a record-breaking number of visitors by the end of April.
In response to the influx, the Department of Tourism has introduced several initiatives to further enhance the tourist experience in Sonamarg.
A tourist from Pune, Maharashtra, shared her experience with Rising Kashmir expressing amazement at the changes over the past two decades. “I now understand why Kashmir is so captivating,” she remarked, commending the warmth and hospitality of the locals and vowing to make Kashmir an annual destination.
Similarly, Anuraj from Surat praised the breathtaking beauty of Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Doodhpathri, encouraging others to visit Kashmir at least once or twice a year to fully appreciate its splendour.
