Srinagar Police Hosts T-10 Cricket Tournament to Boost Community Ties

Srinagar Police organized a T-10 COSCO Cricket Tournament in Downtown Srinagar under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024-25, aiming to foster community engagement and youth participation.

The event saw enthusiastic involvement from various sections of society, especially the youth. Ten teams from across District Srinagar took part in the tournament, with league matches held at Redpora and Islamia College grounds.

The final match, played at Islamia College, Hawal, featured Wazpora XI and Palpora XI, with Wazpora XI emerging victorious.

Mementos, cash prizes, medals, sports equipment, and playing kits were distributed among players.All participating teams also received cricket uniforms as a goodwill gesture.

The event was presided over by SP North City Srinagar and attended by SDPOs Khanyar and MR Gunj, along with SHOs from Sub-Division Khanyar.

Participants praised the J&K Police for organizing the tournament and called for more such initiatives. The tournament not only promoted sportsmanship but also helped strengthen the bond between the police and the community. (KNS)
