Promoting a noble cause to help the specially-abled, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, on behalf of Lieutenant Governor, today handed over TVS Wego Basic 110cc BS-IV Motorized Tricycles to two persons at Div Com office premises.
He handed over the two wheelers in the presence of officials of Social Welfare Department, Principal Private Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Khanday to Div Com, locals and social activists.The beneficiaries include Pravaiz Ahmad Mir S/O Mangta Mir, R/O Keran Kupwara and Shaista Jan D/O Ghulam Mohiudin Mir R/O Satrina, Kangan.
Div Com reiterated that specially-abled persons are part of our society and it is everyone’s duty to come to their help. He said that these two wheelers can help them in commuting anywhere freely without relying on others.
He also appreciated the efforts of Social Welfare and stated that there are certain schemes in the Department under which specially abled persons are provided relief.
