J&K Riders Pedal Their Way to National Recognition at SGFI Cycling Nationals

The Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir brought home medals at the ongoing 69th SGFI Cycling Nationals in Ranchi, Jharkhand, showcasing exceptional talent, discipline and hard work.


Jehangir Ahmad clinched Gold Medal in the Under-19 category, demonstrating dominance and championship temperament. Arsalan Ahmad secured the Silver Medal in the Under-17 category, reflecting consistency and competitive spirit, while Samiullah added a Bronze Medal, proving that perseverance and determination yield results.


The achievements reflect months of rigorous training, early morning sessions, and sacrifices by the young cyclists. These performances are inspiring aspiring cyclists across the UT and highlight the steadily rising standard of cycling in the region.


The Director General of J&K Youth Services & Sports, Anuradha Gupta, was credited for her encouragement and support. The coaching team-Umer Nabi (Head Coach), Mohd Rafiq and Abida Qonsar-played a pivotal role in preparing the riders for national-level competition.
