The sporting event is being organised in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), under the leadership of Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath.

The championship is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from universities across India, with teams scheduled to arrive on February 27 for registration and technical scrutiny.

The sporting extravaganza will feature competitions in Alpine Skiing, Ski Mountaineering, and Snowboarding for both men and women. Alpine Skiing events will include Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Parallel Slalom, while Ski Mountaineering will showcase the Sprint category.

Snowboarding competitions will comprise Slalom and Giant Slalom events. With athletes from diverse regions already registered, the championship promises intense rivalry, exceptional skill, and remarkable displays of endurance and technique.

The university is leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth conduct of the event, providing athletes and officials with a memorable experience.

The event also aligns with the broader vision of holistic development and experiential learning envisaged under the National Education Policy 2020.

In his message, Prof. Nath, emphasized that the event reflects the institution’s growing stature in academic and extracurricular spheres alike. “Hosting such a championship underscores the University’s commitment to fostering holistic development of the individuals,” he further said.
