The Machil Premier League (MPL) 2026 concluded in the border valley of Machil with exciting finals in the men’s and women’s categories, drawing large participation from local and outside teams.In the women’s final, Himalayan Queens Machil scored 213/4 before restricting BHSS Ring Payeen to 99/5 in 15 overs, securing a comprehensive 114-run victory to lift the championship trophy.
In the men’s final, Sheikh 11 Dudi posted 116 runs and set a target of 117 for 11 Brothers Dabpal. The latter chased down the target in 11.2 overs to emerge victorious and claim the MPL 2026 men’s championship.
The tournament witnessed participation from 58 men’s and 14 women’s teams, providing local players an opportunity to showcase their talent, improve their skills and gain exposure through competition with teams from outside the valley.Beyond cricket, the MPL was aimed at promoting border tourism, strengthening the local economy, encouraging youth engagement and highlighting the sporting potential of Machil Valley.
The grand finale was attended by a large number of residents and Indian Army officials, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, sportsmanship and community participation.
Local residents Molvi Abdul Jabbar and Habibullah Harry appreciated the Indian Army for providing young men and women with a platform to showcase their sporting talent. They said such initiatives help youth develop confidence, discipline, teamwork and competitive skills.They also urged the Army to continue and expand such programmes by organising more sports tournaments, training opportunities and youth-oriented activities in the border areas.
The residents expressed hope that continued support for sports and community initiatives would contribute to youth empowerment, tourism promotion, local economic growth and overall development of Machil Valley.
