After abrogation of Article 370, Maharashtra First State to Announce Investment in J&K, planning to open a resort near Srinagar

Maharashtra government on Tuesday announced that it will open a resort in Jammu and Kashmir, becoming the first state government to have made such an announcement. A committee of experts from the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) will soon be travelling to the Valley.

Setting up a tourist resort in the Valley will help boost tourism. This move was taken in the interest of the local population as Maharashtra Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal claims that the resort will only recruit locals and “this will be a great opportunity to generate employment in for the Kashmiri youth.”

Shortcomings with regard to unemployment and tourism will soon be overcome by this bold step taken by the government.
