Director inaugurates free e-cart service at Srinagar International Airport

For hassle-free travel and to save travelers’ time, Director Srinagar International Airport, Javed Anjum on Saturday flagged off the maiden E-cart Service for drop-and-go services on a trial basis.
Former Director Kuldeep Singh Rishi was also presented along with other dignitaries at the inaugural ceremony.
Addressing the media persons, Dir Airport Javid Anjum said the complimentary facility will allow passengers to leave their vehicles at the drop gate and directly put their baggage on x-ray, and after the screening, they can board e-carts stationed at Drop Gate.
“The passengers will then directly put their baggage on x-ray and after screening can board our e-carts stationed at Drop Gate, he said. Passengers can also avail paid porter service if they wish so,” he said.
Anjum said he will forward the legacy and good work done by his predecessor. “I will try my best to carry forward the good work done by my predecessor as he has done a great job here. Soon people will see a vibrant change at the airport, said.
“Special arrangements are in place for a smooth Hajj pilgrimage. The entire area for Pilgrims’ passage through the airport has been earmarked and segregated. A separate area has been also earmarked in the SHA for changing to Ahram,” he said.
Anjum said the entire operation Hajj pilgrimage will be carried out smoothly and we will be able to ensure a nice experience for our passengers.
This year around 12,000 people from Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly preparing for the highly anticipated Hajj pilgrimage of 2023.
Manzoor Ahmad, a local passenger told that the inauguration of the maiden E-cart Service at the airport is a positive step. It will definitely save time and ensure hassle-free travel for passengers, he said.
“It will curb the traffic conjunction at the airport,” he said.
Raju Kumar, who used the e-cart service at the airport, said launching an e-cart service at the airport for passengers is an excellent initiative to enhance their travel experience and provide convenience.
“Implementing an e-cart service at the airport demonstrates a commitment to passenger convenience by Jammu and Kashmir government towards passengers,” he said.
