The North Kashmir Institute of Excellence (NKIE) Pattan on Sunday organised a NEET-cum-Scholarship Felicitation Day, honouring more than 15 students who qualified the NEET examination this year and awarding scholarships to toppers of the institute’s internal scholarship tests.
According to a statement issued here, the event witnessed an impressive turnout, with students, teachers, educationists, social activists and senior citizens participating in large numbers to celebrate academic achievements in the region.
The chief guest, MLA Pattan Javid Riyaz Bedar, congratulated the qualifiers and praised NKIE for emerging as a leading academic institution in North Kashmir.
“These young achievers have made the entire area proud. NKIE’s contribution in shaping the future of our youth is commendable, and such initiatives create a culture of academic excellence in Pattan and beyond,” he said.
MLA Pattan Bedar further urged students to remain focused and disciplined, saying, “Hard work always pays off, and I hope many more young boys and girls from this region will qualify national-level examinations in the coming years.”
Among the special guests was Dr. Mehboob Makhdoomi, Founder of WathHarbour University for Kashmir, who appreciated the rising educational aspirations in North Kashmir.
“Institutions like NKIE are bridging gaps in quality education. When students from small towns crack competitive exams like NEET, it reflects a shift in academic culture and a growing confidence among our youth,” Dr. Makhdoomi said.
Director Dr Saddam, Chairman of SKIE Classes Parraypora, also addressed the gathering. He lauded the dedication of teachers and parents.
“Behind every successful student stands a committed teacher and a supportive family. Today’s felicitation shows that when effort, guidance and opportunity come together, excellence follows,” he remarked.
Director NKIE Dr Sadam said the institute remains committed to offering high-quality coaching for Classes 11 and 12, NEET preparation and foundation courses, and expressed pride in the consistent achievements of their students.
“Our aim is to provide quality and affordable education so that students from North Kashmir do not have to move outside the district for competitive coaching,” he said.
During the ceremony, NKIE also felicitated teachers from various government and private schools for their outstanding performance in academics and their contribution to building strong learning foundations for students across the region.
Dr Irshad Aziz told Rising Kashmir that aim is to ensure that every deserving student, regardless of background, gets access to quality coaching and a fair chance to excel in competitive examinations.
“SATHE Scholarship Test has been conceptualised as a “gateway to realising students’ aspirations”, offering meritorious learners an opportunity to receive up to 100% free coaching from the institute’s most experienced faculty.
“The inaugural SATHE 1.0 examination is scheduled for December 7, 2025, and is open to students of Classes 8, 9, 10 and 11, along with aspirants preparing for NEET and JEE. Scholarships will be awarded solely on the basis of performance, Dr Irhad added.
