IUST holds workshop on academic & curricular review

The Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) organized a Workshop-cum-Interaction Session on May 30, focusing on a comprehensive review of academic and curricular aspects in line with NAAC guidelines.

Chaired by the Dean of Academic Affairs, the session brought together Heads of Departments, Academic and Centre Coordinators, DIQA Nodal Officers, and other key stakeholders to assess the university’s academic progress since its last NAAC accreditation. Discussions focused on curricular planning, pedagogical innovation, learning outcomes, and academic governance, with reference to the Revised Accreditation Framework (RAF) and the proposed Binary Accreditation Framework (BAF).

Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Director DIQA, emphasized the importance of evidence-based academic improvements under BAF and called for critical self-assessment. Deputy Directors Dr. Farooq Hussain Bhat and Dr. Athar Ud Din presented a comparative analysis of performance pre- and post-accreditation, highlighting achievements, challenges, and best practices.
