J&K Skaters clinch 3rd spot at SGFI National Roller Skating C’ship..

Bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir, the skaters have clinched 21 medals in the 67th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National Roller Skating Championship held at Satna, Madhya Pradesh.
The championship was organised from April 11 to 15. As per the information, Jammu and Kashmir emerged as the overall second-runner-up in India (third position overall) at the national event. The skaters won nine gold medals, six silver and six bronze medals in various age categories.

The contingent participated under the aegis of Directorate Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu.
The medalists in the Under-19 Boys category are Ranveer Shan (One Gold, 2 Silver medals), Rajveer Singh (2 Gold medals), Samarjot Singh (Gold, Silver), in Under-19 Girls category: Nivriti Sharma (Silver), in Under-17 Boys: (Udhay Narayan, Gold, Bronze), in Under-17 Girls: Prageet Kour (Bronze), in Under 14 Boys category: (Abhinav Bakshi, Gold, Bronze), Puneesh Puri (Gold), Dharun Sharma (Silver) in Under 14 Girls category: (Tamanna Saini, 2 Gold, Bronze), Saanvi Grover (Silver), and in Under 11 Boys category: Tabish Haider (Bronze), Adwait Sharma (Bronze). Krish Gupta accompanied the squad as manager.

Speaking to the Excelsior, team Manager Krish Gupta said, “J&K skaters performed really well and we stood at the 3rd place in the national tournament with 21 medals including nine Gold medals.”
Director, Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu, Subhash Chibber, congratulated the medal winners and their mentors, Ankush Gupta (in-charge Boys) and Gurdeepika Kour (in-charge Girls) for the spectacular performance.
