NMBA Initiative: Foundation World School Conducts Annual Cross-Country Event

Foundation World School on Saturday organized its Annual Cross-Country Run (CCR) for the girls’ wing, bringing together students from Grades 3 to 12 in a spirited showcase of endurance and sportsmanship.

Beyond competition, the event doubled as a platform for promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA).

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam, Hariprasad K.K. attended as the chief guest and flagged off the run.

Addressing the gathering, he underscored the importance of physical fitness and discipline in steering youth away from substance abuse.

The initiative, aligned with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment’s flagship campaign, reinforced the message that an active lifestyle is a strong safeguard against harmful habits.

Participants competed across three categories. In the Primary Wing (Grades 3–4), Fatima Afifa secured first place, followed by Aliza Ajaz and Aleesha Maryam.In the Middle Wing (Grades 5–7), Aisha Mushood clinched the top spot, with Itrat Arshid and Inaaya Zahid finishing second and third.

The Senior Wing (Grades 8–12) saw Meshal Mustakeem emerge victorious, while Zainab Irfan and Arvah Fatimah completed the podium.

Aisha Mushood was awarded the Best Runner title for her outstanding performance and record-setting pace.The Best House Participation Award was bagged by Green House for its collective enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Faculty members also took part in a dedicated staff category, highlighting the institution’s inclusive approach to fitness.

On the closing ceremony of the event, SSP Hariprasad K.K. commended the school for its efforts in fostering discipline and holistic development. He urged students to carry forward the resilience and focus cultivated through sports into their daily lives, contributing towards a healthier and drug-free society
