Irtiqa Muzaffar Kema, a resident of Sopore, was filled with surprise and gratitude as she received a prestigious gold medal from none other than the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, during the 20th convocation of the University of Kashmir.
Hailing from Umarabad, Amargarh Sopore, Irtiqa was adorned with the Gold medal presented by President Droupadi Murmu, a moment she never expected but one that she described as a dream come true.
“I never expected to receive a Gold medal from the President of India. It was a dream come true,” she expressed, her eyes reflecting the awe of the moment.
Irtiqa admitted that she had never even thought of receiving a medal from the President and added, “I will cherish these moments for the rest of my life.”
Irtiqa earned this prestigious recognition as the top student in the valley in the field of BIT (Bachelors in Information Technology) for the batch of 2018.
The remarkable ceremony was graced by the presence of Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, further enhancing the significance of her achievement.
Expressing her feelings, Irtiqa said, “I am very thrilled and thankful to Almighty Allah for this achievement. My family always supported me.”
The convocation, attended by President Murmu, served as a platform to acknowledge academic excellence.
President Murmu commended the students for their outstanding achievements and emphasized the pivotal role of education in shaping the future of the nation. She encouraged the students to persist in their pursuit of knowledge.
