The army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organised a youth festival “Iris Anantnag-2020” at Anantnag Highground.
A statement said the event was held under the aegis of 1-RR Battalion (MAHAR) as part of the army’s Sadbhavana initiative to provide an opportunity to students and youth of south Kashmir to enjoy cultural extravaganza.
The statement said the theme of the festival was “Unity in Diversity” and different artists performed during the event. “It also covered a constructive agenda of motivating youth towards society building and career counseling ranging from government jobs to entrepreneurship opportunities,” said the statement.
“The display of weapons and equipment as part of ‘Know Your Army’, fun and frolic in the games pavilion and various food courts were a pleasant contrast to routine life of students yearning for stress busters,” said the statement.
It said Major General, Anindya Sengupta, YSM, General Officer Commanding, Victor Force, and many civil-military dignitaries attended the event.
