The University of Kashmir (KU) and the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an Institution of National Importance under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration and promote joint research in areas of mutual interest.
The MoU was signed at the office of the Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, by RRU Jammu and Kashmir Campus Director Dr Mahesh Tripathi and KU Registrar Prof (Dr) Naseer Iqbal.
The signing ceremony was attended by KU Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Neelofar Khan, RRU Lifetime Professor Prof (Dr) Mehraj Ud Din Mir, Dean and Head of KU’s School of Law Prof (Dr) Shahnaz, Special Secretary to the Vice Chancellor Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Zari, RRU Senior Law Faculty Dr Mudasir Bhat, and KU Senior Law Faculty Dr Mohammad Yaseen Wani.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation through joint research projects, student and faculty exchange programmes, internships, and credit transfer under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).
The two institutions will also collaborate in teacher training, academic consultation and skill development in national security, behavioural and forensic sciences, law, police administration, criminology and other multidisciplinary fields.
Officials said the partnership is expected to strengthen academic engagement between the two universities and create new opportunities for collaborative teaching, research and capacity building.
