Srinagar Hosts ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ Cycling Race with Over 3,000 Participants

Over 3,000 cyclists on Thursday participated in the Jammu & Kashmir Police Cycle Race-2026, titled “Pedal through Paradise” in Srinagar, with the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed Police, Nitish Kumar, stating that around 5,000 entries were received for the event.

The cycle race, flagged off by ADGP Kumar, was organised along routes from Lalit Ghat (Police Golf Course) to Nagbal Chowk via Foreshore Road and from Lalit Ghat to Harwan via Shalimar.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Kumar said the race witnessed participation across different categories, including children, women and people above the age of 45, adding that their participation reflected growing awareness about fitness and health among people in Kashmir.

“This is an auspicious occasion and shows how people in Kashmir have become more aware of fitness and how passionate they are about health,” he told reporters.

The ADGP congratulated all participants and those associated with organising the event, saying the annual race provided an opportunity to promote fitness and encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The traffic police had issued an advisory in the wake of the event, announcing that the Boulevard Road would remain closed from 7 am until the conclusion of the race.
